I was so disappointed to have missed the ‘Heartwave Beach Walk’ at Currumbin Beach. The event was reported to be a great success with over 400 locals and 36 Grantham flood survivors participating in the Heartwave Beach Walk and over $5,000 being raised.
According to news reports the day also attracted some top Australian surfers and elite iron men. The day certainly had its share of supporting sponsors which included the following:
GCCC, Billabong, Kelloggs, Havaianas, Currumbin SLSC, SAND, Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, Fastproof Press, Stryker Media, Surfing Queensland, Unilever, Cool Ridge Water, Hogarth Studio, Happy Days Diaries and Soul Arch Media.
Heidi Bartholomew plans to make the Heartwave Beach Walk a yearly event not only on the Gold Coast but also interstate. It will be worth checking Heidi’s blog to keep up to date with what’s going on.
Keeping up to date with digital and social media
Although being a world away in Palm Spring California, I was able to tap into the wonderful world of digital and social media to see this remarkable event unfold. First to face book for the latest news and then off to Google to see what the latest media postings had to say and it didn’t stop there.
Two videos were posted so you could enjoy the feel of the day without actually being there.
