Brighton Pier Uk What a Place!

Brighton Pier UK what a place!

Walking- Brighton UK

I know this blog is about walking the Gold Coast and I will be doing a lot of that over the next few months, however the last few weeks I have been overseas so my walking has been in another location and time zone and for all those serious walkers or pleasure walkers you will understand.

Brighton Pier UK what a place! Before I get into the ‘picture thing’.. etc I would just like to quote  what others have said about the UK beach scene and I might add this generally has come from ‘English folk themselves’, quote…..”You will be disappointed it’s not like the Gold Coast” “No beach, just stones” “Don’t bother there is no sand”

Well Brighton is a fabulous place…. the whole feel of the place was wonderful and only 50mins from London – Paddington station. Hop on the train at Paddington station and 50min later you are in Brighton, head straight out of the station for the sea you can’t miss it.
I was amazed at the place, wasn't what I expected

Brighton is an interesting day out, plenty of cafés on the way down to the seafront and heaps to choose from when you arrive. The sheer size of the place is impressive; unfortunately we never got the opportunity to visit the lanes with all the antique shops.

I can only imagine the beachfront activity during the English summer; it was quite busy the day we were there, quiet earlier in the day but by 2.00pm the place was really starting to move.

During the warmer weather I can see the beach front being full of multicoloured umbrellas and Al fresco dinning at every available spare space, definitely a place to visit if you like walking and exploring new locations, a couple of days staying at one of the Hotels on the front would suit me just fine. I will be looking into that on my next trip….

If time permitted it would have been advantageous to have walked the whole of the seafront, but that wasn’t to be this time and I had no idea of what to expect.

This location was a recommendation from the staff at the ticket box at Paddington Station; I must say they were very friendly and full of information.

So the whole point is the English seaside is alive and well and certainly worth a trip. One of my English cousins recommended Portsmouth Harbour for a quieter location with spectacular scenery. This will be a must next time!
