Palm Beach is a special place to walk for a number of reasons, one being the beachside suburb is nestled between two of the most beautiful waterways on the Gold Coast.
it’s crescent shape beach has been described as a ‘Pearl of the Ocean’ more about that later.
Both these areas are amongst the most popular recreational spots on the Gold Coast, featuring quiet safe tranquil waters for fishing, boating and swimming and not to forget walking.
At the northern end, is Tallebudgera Creek, with Burleigh Headland rising from its waters.
At the southern end of Palm Beach is Currumbin Creek, with views of Currumbin Rock and the famous ‘Alley’ from Palm Beach Spit.
There are a couple of beautiful walks along the Estuary one through a Reserve and the other on a Boardwalk.
Palm Beach is a flat suburb which is great news for those who enjoy a stroll and don’t want to work too hard.
Elanora which sits on a ridge behind Palm Beach features many captivating views that few ever see.
One favourite walk is walking from Creek to Creek Tallebudgera to Currumbin Creek, along the entire length of Palm Beach, transport yourself back in time and read what this beach was used for.
Just get on the beach and choose your direction, this is a lovely clean beach with awards from ‘Clean up Australia’ Palm Beach receiving the cleanest beach in Queensland twice.
Palm Beach is a quirky suburb with a rich history, in the early days it was isolated and was described as a place where Palm, ferns and staghorns grow; unfortunately those days have long gone. But nonetheless Palm Beach is a unique place to explore.

The sea its pearls. Palm Beach is one of them, It is set between the Tallebudgera Creek, where it meets the ocean, and Currumbin Creek. Running from the beach is a wooded plateau containing hundreds of acres, which are backed by the beautiful Tallebudgera Creek near the beach and a fine fresh water lake.
The suburb still clings to the past in sections with old beach shacks sitting on prime beachfront land still gripping onto its fast disappearing heritage. See them before they are gone forever!
