Burleigh Heads

Burleigh Heads a Vibrant Community

Over the last few years Burleigh has evolved from a sleepy seaside suburb known for its surf break and beautiful white sandy beach to a vibrant destination.

Every weekend the area is alive with activities, with many spending their weekends using the grassy Esplanade and ‘The Point’ Burleigh Headland for picnics and BBQ’s.

There is a great family atmosphere here with all age groups represented, from the young riding their bikes on the pathway along the Esplanade to the elderly taking advantage of the seating to watch the world go by.
Burleigh Esplanade is used by many locals and visitors for exercise and would undoubtedly be one of the best locations to take a Gold Coast walk, with a Headland at each end of the beach to push you to your limits.

Burleigh Esplanade a place to exercise…

In addition the Gold Coast City Council have installed an elaborate set of public exercise equipment to enhance your experience, so there is no excuse that you are holidaying and can’t get to the gym. You could play on the adult equipment while your children play in the children’s playground and everyone will be happy.
Norfolk Island Pines line the main beach area at Burleigh and extend right up to Burleigh Headland National Park, during the late afternoon and early evening the screeching of the Rainbow Lorikeets settling for the night is deafening.

However this nightly choir of colourful bird-life is a fascinating experience and one that is a delight for locals and tourist.
Many a late afternoon can be spent grabbing a bite to eat from the local cafes or bringing your own picnic and sitting below the trees (but be careful you don’t get hit by a flying missile).

Living on the Gold Coast we can easily take this evening chorus for granted, however tourist are awed by the whole experience and the look on their faces particularly those from overseas is a delight to watch.
